Any USB or built-in camera. Pick the device from the inspector — Visualz negotiates 720p with the OS and the camera picks its preferred frame rate. Pair with Chroma Key + Face Tracker for "performer on the deck".
I/O
Devices — anything the OS can see.
Webcams, screen captures, and HDMI capture cards all show up as clip sources. Drop one on a deck, run it through the effect chain, modulate it on the beat. Live camera in, deck out — no extra app.
Mirror any display or window into a clip. Pull visuals from another app (Resolume, MadMapper, a browser tab) and run it through the Visualz effect chain. OS-level picker chooses which surface to grab.
HDMI capture cards show up as webcam-class devices on the OS — pick them like any other camera. Bring a console, a second laptop, or a DSLR straight into the deck.
Same modulation surface as everything else
Device feeds aren't a special case — they're clip sources. Drop an effect chain on top (Chroma Key, Bad TV, ASCII, kaleidoscope, whatever you want), bind any numeric param to an audio band or a MIDI knob, and you're mixing live camera the same way you mix anything else.
Permission-gated, OS-picker driven
The OS asks you on first use whether to grant camera or screen-recording access. Once granted, the device picker is one click away from the inspector. Hot-plug a camera mid-set and it shows up on the list.
