Visualz 3.0.9
3.0.9 is a polish pass on the work that landed with the CVJ-1. Deck workflows get faster and harder to misfire, Settings and Outputs stop tearing down Perform when you open them, and the 3D waveform source grows from one mode to six. A couple of audio-reactive visualizers also got quieter on the GPU.
Pad grid, three zones per pad
The 8×2 pad grid on Deck's Mix tab used to overload long-press for binding and short-press for triggering, which made accidental rebinds during a fast set far too easy. 3.0.9 splits each pad into three explicit hit zones:
- Main area — press and release exactly like the physical pad, no delay, no modal.
- Lower-left corner — opens the assignment dialog for that pad. No more accidental rebinds mid-set.
- Upper-right corner — jumps straight into the source picker, scoped to that pad.
The trigger area is still the bulk of the pad, so playing feels the same; the corners just give you the two things you reach for most without diving into a menu.
Parameter scroller, now in Perform
The picker modal that opens from the knob on faders 5–8 — the one for browsing and tweaking effects — now mounts in Perform as well as Deck. It also picked up a second tab for source parameters, so you can scrub the active clip's visualizer settings in the same overlay you were already using for FX. One less reason to leave the surface mid-set.
Settings and Outputs as overlays
Opening Settings or Outputs used to swap routes, which meant Perform unmounted — engine canvas torn down, computed signals re-created, a visible stutter on the way in and out. 3.0.9 renders both as overlays on top of Perform instead. The engine keeps rendering, the canvas stays warm, and switching back is instant. Existing /settings and /outputs deep-links still resolve — they just open the overlay over Perform rather than navigating away.
3D waveform — five new modes
The core.waveform3D source had one look. 3.0.9 ships five more — tunnel, ribbon, mountain, vortex, and cloud — each with a real 3D camera path you can leave on manual or hand off to orbit, flythrough, dolly, or punch. All six modes share the same FFT history feed, so switching between them is instant and beat-locked.
Logo overlay placement
The logo overlay in Settings now exposes anchor and offset controls. Pin to any corner or edge, nudge into place, and your watermark sits exactly where you want it regardless of output resolution.
Smoother audio reactivity
Two of the heavier visualizers got cheaper without changing how they look. The frequency-network source replaced its per-frame nearest-neighbour sort with a rolling buffer that's roughly an order of magnitude faster at 256 points, so the connection lines keep up cleanly on busier material. The tunnel source now caps its geometry rebuilds at about 10 Hz instead of rebuilding every frame on every audio-driven param cross — same animation, much less GPU upload pressure.
